College Introduction

Following the motto of "diligence, determinacy, sincerity, and honesty," NCUT cultivate talents with professional skills and virtues – "professional know-how, humanistic concern, social responsibility, international outlook," with the objective of being an "innovation-oriented university of technology dedicated to quality industry."

The college takes excellence, prospections, and pragmatism as our development principle in view of the rapid development of the global high-tech industries in electrical, electronic and information technology. Our education objective is to cooperate with the government Central Taiwan Science Park and industrial parks in nurturing talents who possess both the skills of "professionalism" and "humanistic care".

Taiwan's high-tech industries were concentrated in the north and the south, while the central region was still dominated by traditional industries. In the face of competition from the China and Southeast Asia, such as the relocation of industries from the central region, the regional development became even more uneven. Therefore, the Executive Yuan established a science park in the central region in 2002 in order to promote industrial upgrading and to balance regional development.

In Aug, 2006, the school was authorized to establish the preparatory center of College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. In Feb 01, 2007, after the school was renamed as University of Science and Technology, College of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science was formally established. Fostering the national need of Electrical, Electronic and Information industries technology talents is fostering the national need of Electrical, Electronic and Information industries technology talents. At the same time, we plan a number of interdisciplinary program and R & D teams with a pragmatic and practical approach to develop NCUT into a central industry-specific training institute for electrical, electronic and information technology talents.
